Asus G46VW Secure Boot

With all the controversy surround Secure Boot and UEFI, I'm happy to report that the Asus G46VW-BSI5N06 has the ability to disable "Secure Boot Control" in its BIOS settings, under the "Security" menu. In addition to this control, it has a full set of "Key Management" functions.

Note: You can enter the BIOS on the G46VW by pressing the F2 key on boot.

The "Key Management" functions include "Platform Key (PK)", "Key Exchange Key Database(KEK)", "Authorized Signature Database(DB)", and "Forbidden Signature Database(DBX). Under each of these category, you can "Set from File", "Get to File", "Delete", and "append an entry". There is also a global "Clear Secure Boot keys" that sounds dangerous.

There is also a "Lauch EFI Shell from filesystem device" option under the "Save & Exit" menu. But when I activate it, it shows a warning dialog with the "Not Found" message. This function is described as "Attempts to Launch EFI Shell application (Shelx64.efi) from one of the available filesystem devices."
