Asus FX503V Loses Battery Power When Completely Shut off

I have an Asus FX503V gaming laptop. I've always left it in the trunk of my car fully charged, so that I can use it when I'm on the road. It could sit there for days or weeks. Recently, I noticed that it would lose battery power just sitting in the trunk. If I don't use it for a few days, it would be down to half charge. If I leave it there for a week or two, it would be completely dead. What's causing this?
