Snowy Leopardy GoodnessGotta love Apple. I mean, it's required. Who else would introduce a back-office bug fix with no new features to speak of, release it as a version, announce it to a wild burst of applause ("Boom!"), give it this... exotic name (that's a separate triumph of marketing, right there), and generate all this excitement about it? It's a true accomplishment. Not to take away anything from 10.6 -- the install was as easy as always, I didn't have any of the reported bumps in the road or spinning wheels of death or flashing knives or anything like that, and I got about 9 gig of my life back. I'm just a little uncomfortable, in a wondering way, about the hype and the characterization of this as a full OS release. Of course Apple looks great in contrast to MS but who wouldn't? There's just no metaphor pungent enough to describe the way MS keeps building onto those rotten timbers that lay way down underneath Vista -- I hear Remond has started hiring archeology majors -- and getting a clean, new, working, and more slender operating system should be the norm, not the cause for snowy-leopardy celebration. What's 9 gig worth on the open market, anyway? $0.80? Zoso
