Faster Printing with OpenOffice

Printing in OpenOffice on the Mac OS can be quite slow and tedious. The problem is that OpenOffice has to prepare all of the document pages before you can even choose which pages you want to print. That can take a long time with large documents. And if you want to print multiple segments of a document, repeating that process can drive you crazy.

In the process of doing just that, I found a more efficient trick to print selective pages from a document. And that is to print to PDF the first time. Then open the PDF document to print all your pages. "Preview" that comes with Mac OS X doesn't need to prepare the PDF document to print. It's quite painless print selective pages using it.
