Can't Get Rid of Search Box on SafariI tried running Apple Safari on Mac OS X today. First thing I tried to do is to remove the search box. It's placed at the exact same position as Firefox. Whenever I install a new version of Firefox on Windows or Linux, I always removed that box. Right clicking on the toolbox shows the familiar "Customize Toolbar..." functionality. Maybe Safari are based on the same engine as Firefox. Awesome! But my celebration is short lived. For some !@#$%^& reason, Apple tied the URL box and the Google Search box together. So you can't remove one without removing the other. Maybe they are so !@#$%^& insecure about loosing Google search revenues that they won't untie the two. Well, that's too bad, looks like I'll be outcast Safari altogether. Firefox here I come again. You're always my savior. And I have thought that I would get a brand new experience with Mac OS X. Chieh Cheng You can only shrink it in size by dragging the dot, that separates the address and the search, to the right. Mel
