VirtualBox Ubuntu 12.10 Guest Additions Installation FixInstalling Ubuntu 12.10 in VirtualBox on Windows 8 was practically a no brainer. But getting the VirtualBox Guest Additions to work in Ubuntu 12.10 is a real pain. For one, it keeps reporting the following error message: "The headers for the current running kernel were not found. If the following module compilation fails then this could be the reason." And sure enough, every time I get that message, guest additions--copy and paste--didn't work. After installing kernel headers, it still didn't work. It turns out that it really just wanted "dkms": sudo apt-get -y install dkms Once you do that, reinstall the VirtualBox Guest Additions. Once you reboot the virtual machine, you'll find that copy and paste functionality works. Jake
