Ideas on CF Card transfer errors?

I have a SanDisk ImageMate CF Reader/Writer attached to my VAIO PCG-K15 running WinXP SP2. The problems occurs when I try to copy images from my SanDisk Extreme 1GB card to my desktop by dragging the DCIM folder off the CF card. After about 2 or 3 images, I get "The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid."

I thought it might be the reader, so I tried a similar experiment with my SanDisk 256MB card. It worked fine. The only thing that I can think of is that the files are being copied too quickly to the computer and something is happening. I think the Extreme cards are 60X.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Hi

I have the same problem running WinXP2 using a card reader and various cards, Mem stick, CF and SD.
Every time I try to copy across to the computer it exhibits the exact symptoms you mention. I even had a DCIM folder wiped clean during one of these copy sessions.
If I use the card reader I have to move files one at a time and even then I occasionally get the error report which incidentally once I click ok I lose the external drive window and have to open it all up again.
Don`t know of any cure yet.
