Prism Wireless PC Card on Windows CE 2.0

I have a LG Phenom Windows CE 2.0 Handheld PC. Although ancient, I'd like to put it to use . . . say access the Internet. That means getting a WiFi card to work on it.

I have several wireless PCMCIA cards. None of them have drivers for Windows CE. So while searching for the drivers, I found the Network Service Pack (NSP) for Windows CE 2.0. As it turn out, Windows CE 2.0 doesn't come with build-in support for TCP/IP network. Installing this Network Service Pack adds the TCP/IP support.

After digging around, I realized that my D-Link DWL-650 and my Proxim RangeLAN-DS (8430) wireless cards are based on the Prism chipset; meaning that they could use Windows CE drivers written for Prism wireless cards. I found one such driver from NetGear MA401 CF Wireless Network Card and Windows CE.

After installing the driver and specifying "prismnds.dll" when the "Unidentified PCCard Adapter" dialog popped up (see screen shot below), I was able to get the LG Phenom to recognize the D-Link DWL-650 wireless card. And after configuring the network settings, I got on the Internet without a problem.

The Proxim RangeLAN-DS didn't work with the LG Phenom because it's a 32-bit CardBus card. Apparently the LG Phenom only has a 16-bit PC Card slot; even though I was able to insert the Proxim RangeLAN-DS into the PCMCIA slot with some force.

I also have an LG Phenom which I'd like to put to good use. Where can I get software for it and how can I load this software onto the machine? (I've lost the cables / original CD). Also, how can I use the machine with my broadband connection? I've only evr been able to use dial-up access with it.

What software? Doesn't your LG Phenom already turn on?
