Modify Motorola Xoom Protective Portfolio CaseWhen my brother handed me the Motorola Xoom Android tablet, he also handed me the Motorola Protective Portfolio Case as well. It was a very nice case that not only protect the Xoom well, but also worked as a stand with two angles. But after I was done playing with the Xoom and ready to charge it for the night, I found the case has no hole for the charging port (see photo below). I was forced to leave the case open while charging the Xoom. That led me to think about ways to improve this case. The most obvious improvement is to simply drill a hole in the case for the charging port. I would probably have done that already, but I have a Xoom Standard Dock coming in a few days. That made me think about how the Protective Portfolio Case is meant to be used with the Standard Dock. With the ability to fold back the case as a stand, maybe the Xoom designer intends the case to be open while the Xoom is attached for charging, so that the Xoom can be used while charging. I will wait a few days to see how well the Protective Portfolio Case work with the Standard Dock. Then decide. Chieh Cheng
