Bluetooth Mouse on Android 3.0

Android tablets are getting really close to being a thin client for getting some work done. Although the on-screen keyboard is useable, it takes up half the screen. Now, with an external Bluetooth keyboard, you can use the full tablet screen for productive work. The question is, what does Android 3.0 do with a Bluetooth mouse?

What I found with the Motorola Xoom is that you actually get a mouse pointer in Android 3.0, much like you do on a typical computer operating system. The mouse pointer works pretty much the same way as any other operating system. The only difference is that all button clicks acts as a touch. All three buttons act the same way, meaning there is no middle or right button clicks.

What does middle or right button have to do with Android. Nothing really. But if you are considering using Android as a thin-client for Remote Desktop into Windows or VNC into Linux/Mac, it becomes a serious consideration.

Nevertheless, being able to use a mouse for precise navigation in Android 3.0 is a real awesome feature to increase productivity. If you haven't tried it with your Xoom, it's time to give it a go.

i'm using the bluetooth mouse and the bluetooth keyboard extensively today. on android 3.0, the mouse pointer is black. the xoom android 3.0 theme is also black and dark. the moues pointer practically fades on the title bar and the bottom menu bar. android 3.0 needs to proivde an inverted mouse pointer option, so that the mouse pointer is more visible.

Title: Gun Bros: Precision Shooting

Excerpt: One of my favorite games on the Motorola Xoom (Android tablet) is Gun Bros. But most games that requires a "controller" like interface on a touch screen is awkward to control. After all, there is no tactile feedback when you move the "controller" via touch. The nice thing about Android 3.0 is that y . . .
