The Only Thing Missing in PlanetSide 2PlanetSide 2 has everything I wanted in a first person shooter (FPS): persistent world, huge maps, teamwork, tactical strategy, and lots of players. And it's game play mechanism being similar to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a real plus. But there is one thing missing that irks me. And that is the destructible environment. That's right, I love the destructible environment of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. You can practically destroy any building on the map. Even Battlefield 3 can't come close. If you have never played Battlefield: Bad Company 2, I highly recommend you get it just to experience the destruction. Nothing in PlanetSide 2, other than the movable units, is destructible. It's science fiction, so you can always explain that away with technology. But nothing satisfies the fun of bringing a building down to its ground or entering a build via a new hole in the wall. I'm sure no one would be interested in a persistent world if it is completely a barren land with only collapse buildings. I can think of two solutions: 1) auto-rebuild after a base capture; 2) engineers can fix the buildings. With a destructive world, the game becomes more interesting. No two battles will be ever alike. Perhaps we'll see that in PlanetSide 3? Fido
