PlanetSide 2: How Many Characters Per Server?

At the end of the beta testing, I was only able to create one character per server. Therefore, for the US west server that is closest to me, I only played on the New Conglomerate. I ended up creating a Vanu Sovereignty character on the US east server. To try out the Terran Republic faction, I created another character on the AU server.

Creating multiple characters on numerous servers is not all that bad. The problem is if you have a large premade team, then you're going to put in quite a bit of effort making sure everyone is in the same faction on the same server.

Question is, will SOE allows us to have three character on each server? That would be optimal, because you'd be able to play each faction as desired.

It has been confirmed in these two threads that you can only have one character in one of the three factions on each server:

One solution presented is to create multiple accounts. Then you can have as many factions on a server as you like.

Another solution is to agree on the faction per server and create different faction characters on different servers.

In both of these cases, the drawback is that you have to level multiple characters. Not so bad for many MMORPG players. But for me, I rather just stick to one character that I level up all the way.

Currently, you can have up to three characters max. Basically means you can have one character of each faction on different servers. The following screen shot shows the current PlanetSide 2 server list.
