Diablo 3 is Making History Once Again with the Death of RMAHOver a year ago, Blizzard made history with the Diablo 3 real money auction house (RMAH). No other games in history had an internal item trading store that is tied to real money. Blizzard could have made it big. But just yesterday, I received an e-mail from Blizzard. The e-mail is titled, "NOTICE: Diablo III Auction House Closure". So a year after making history, Blizzard made history once again. This time, Diablo 3 is the first game to shut down its RMAH. Blizzards quotes the reason as "[RMAH] ultimately undermines Diablo's core game play: kill monsters to get cool loot." But what is the real reason for the closure? Afterall, if Blizzard is making a killing on it, would they really close it today? The following is the Diablo 3 auction house closure announcement e-mail from Blizzard. Read it and let us know what you think. We are writing tell you about an important change to Diablo III: we're going to be removing the gold and real-money auction house system from the game. Fido
