League of Legends: Why No Rotating Game Mode this Weekend?

LOL's rotating game mode has been with us every weekend for about two years now. This weekend is the first time in the two year history where rotating game mode is not available in League of Legends. Why is there no rotating game mode this weekend? Is this a sign of stormy changes to come? Or is this just a black sheep weekend?

There was no rotating game mode last weekend. And there is no rotating game mode this weekend. It's starting to become a trend.

I've thought that the League of Legends rotating game mode is dead. Because ever since the New Year game modes ended, there hasn't been a single rotating game mode on any weekends.

But this weekend marks the first weekend of 2018 where rotating game mode is back. And the first rotating game mode of 2018 is Blood Moon.
