League of Legends: Runaan's Hurricane is for AscensionI have tried Runaan's Hurricane several times on Tristana. Compared to my typical build, Runaan's Hurrcane just doesn't do enough damage to the primary target. But it is very powerful when the enemy champion is clustered together. In Summoner's Rift, Crystal Scar, and Twisted Treeline, the enemies just aren't clustered enough for it to work. However, it is likely more useful on Howling Abyss, because it's practically team fight all the time. Currently, there is another game mode that's practically all team fight all the time. That is the Ascension game mode. Ascension game mode is available until September 21, 2014. Ascension uses a modified version of the Crystal Scar. Each team is focused on capturing relics. Because you are running around in circles, trying to capture relics close to the middle of the map, team fight happens all the time. Riot further encourages team fight by placing a super Xerath in the middle of the map for each team to fight over. Very rarely do you combat one-on-one. That means this map is a prime candidate for Runaan's Hurricane. In fact, it's one of the default recommended items on Tristana. I build the Runaan's Hurricane on Tristana a little past the mid-game. It worked beautifully as the enemy champions pile on the team fights. By end game, Tristana was so fed that I able to take on multiple champions at the same time all by myself. Fido
