Quake MP3 Sound Files

While trying to backup my Steam games directories, I noticed a few interesting sound directories under "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[user name]\counter-strike source\cstrike\sound". One of the directory is apparently from the game Quake. Your find the popular masculine Quake voices in MP3 format. These sound files makes me wonder what Valve has in mind for Counter-Strike: Source.
