Comparing Killing Floor to Other GamesFor people who didn't know about Killing Floor, like me, would think it's a cheap rip-off to Left 4 Dead. But in reality, Killing Floor started off as a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, dated back to 2005. Left 4 Dead, on the other hand, was released in 2008. Perhaps, after the publicity of Left 4 Dead, Killing Floor became a independent retail game in 2009. The only other things in common between the two are that 1) they are both FPS; 2) you team up to fight zombie and zombie-like creatures; 3) they are both creepy, spooky, and scary. But after that the similarity ends. Left 4 Dead is more like a survival mission; you must reach a safe house to secure your safety at the end of a map. Killing Floor is more like Dawn of War II: The Last Stand, where you fight off waves after waves of monsters. Because of this difference, many Killing Floor maps are like round-and-round maps of Counter-Strike: Source. Left 4 Dead maps, on the other hand, is more linear and progressive. Overall, I find both games enjoyable in their own ways. For example, sometimes in Left 4 Dead, I wonder how many zombies I can fight off if I have no where to go. But while playing Killing Floor, I sometimes there is a real goal, rather than searching for the merchant. Nevertheless, I think the two games complements each other in my arsenal of games. Chieh Cheng hmmm....I find it more interesting. I guess the title says it all. sarcast
