Call of Duty 4 - Amazon or Steam?

Recently, my friends and I had started playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. They got their copy on Steam for $39.99. I got mine for $36.15 on Amazon. I was hoping that getting it for three dollars cheaper from Amazon, I can still register it with Steam, which you can do with some games (Dawn of War: Soulstorm comes to mind).

But after getting it, I was unable to register with steam. So I must have the CD in the drive to play it. So is it worth three bucks? Maybe to some folks. But for me, I prefer not having to find my CD every time I want to play the game.

Oh well. It's not the end of the world.
