DTC P0455

My co-worker wanted to borrow my Actron OBD II AutoScanner CP9175. The "Check Engine" light on his SUV came on. We plugged in the scanner and found the following code.

P0455

EVAP Emission
Control System Leak
(Large)

The most common cause for this problem is the gas cap. Otherwise, he really has a leak in the car's emission system and need to be checked out by a mechanic.

He swore that him and his wife always secure the gas cap by turning it until it clicks a few times. But when we sent to check it, the gas cap practically slid off without much of a force. And it had a locking gas cap. Always check your gas cap when you get this code.
