Removing Dethreaded NutWhile torquing down the top locking nut on my damper, I de-threaded it (even though I was using a torque wrench). I am taking the top hat off again, because I have forgotten to install a dust boot washer on it. But the top locking nut has lost its thread. With a 17mm wrench, the nut just keeps turning and turning, but won't unscrew itself from the damper shaft. Anyone know how to remove a nut that has lost its thread? Yah, this is on the Eibach Pro-System (dampers and springs) . . . in case you have been following the recent messages. Chieh Cheng Well, I ended up cutting the locking nut off using a Dremel and a bunch of cutting wheels. The metal nut was still extremely strong after cutting off one side. I had to cut off two-sides on the stripped locking nut. Once I cut off the second side, the stripped nut came apart without much effort. Chieh Cheng
