2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback

Mitsubishi is on the verge of officially unveiling its 2010 Lancer Sportback in the United States, a fresher, sleeker take on its already popular Lancer. Stylish yet compact and fun, this new Lancer stands out among the competitor's compact hatchback vehicles.

The Lancer Sportback's origin lies in a concept car called the Prototype-S Concept, first appearing in 2008. Almost identical to its concept car predecessor, the Sportback shares many of the same features as the Prototype-S Concept. The sheet metal is the same as is everything from the rear passenger doors to the font of the vehicle. Hopefully, everyone will notice the Sportback as it becomes available late this summer. One noticeable deviation from the concept car is the Sportback's inclusion of its one of a kind taillights and steeply raked hatchback. Another feature that distinguishes this vehicle from its concept car origins is its rear glass, sitting at a forty-five degree angle with a lengthened spoiler mounted just above it.

There's an increase in the amount of headroom given to the occupants created by the longer and taller roofline. Aside from this improvement, the interior is relatively the same. Not that it's a bad thing. Why improve on perfection? With standard features like keyless entry and ignition, automatic climate control, and a nine speaker audio system, you'll be glad Mitsubishi didn't change a thing.
